Every quarter, Edison Podcast Metrics™ releases new data detailing the entire U.S. weekly podcast consumption space. This week we’re looking exclusively at the top new shows; podcasts that debuted in 2025 and have the largest weekly listening audience over the entire year.
The podcasts on this list cover a wide variety of genres and feature a range of perspectives and voices. As you review, keep in mind that launching a podcast earlier in the year can boost a show’s audience average, consistent with year-end rankings for movies, songs, and television shows.
1. Good Hang with Amy Poehler
One show that is not a stranger to this newsletter is Good Hang with Amy Poehler. Poehler recently won the first Golden Globe for best podcast. The show’s combination of well-known guests, witty banter, and a captivating host have all connected deeply with audiences quickly vaulting it into Edison Podcast Metrics Top 50 shortly after its premier.
2. Joe and Jada
While Fat Joe previously hosted The Fat Joe Show in 2021, he and fellow hip-hop legend Jadakiss released Joe and Jada in May of 2025 with iHeartPodcasts and The Volume.
3. The Brett Cooper Show
The Brett Cooper Show debuted at the start of 2025 and seeks to explore how generational shifts and cultural trends are reshaping our values. Cooper previously hosted The Comments Section on The Daily Wire before this new venture.
4. The Best People with Nicolle Wallace
The newest show to make the top ten list of new shows is The Best People with Nicolle Wallace, which debuted in June of 2025. The show’s success illustrates the power of harnessing an existing audience and moving them to another title, since Nicolle also hosts another podcast, Deadline: White House.
5. bangin’ out
An April 2025 release from 7EQUIS features Kayla Malecc and Jacob Sartorius discussing some of the latest happenings in pop culture each week.
6. The Nerve with Maureen Callahan
Veteran journalist Maureen Callahan started The Nerve with Maureen Callahan in April of 2025. The show blends politics, media, pop culture and true crime and is part of the Megyn Kelly-founded MK Media Network.
7. Crook County
From Tenderfoot TV and iHeartPodcasts, Crook County was an eight-episode true-crime series that ran in February and March of 2025, in which filmmaker Kyle Tekiela uncovers his father’s double life as a Chicago mafia hitman.
8. The Keith Edwards Show
The Keith Edwards Show
Keith Edwards, who first built an audience on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube now boasts more than a million YouTube subscribers, officially launched The Keith Edwards Show in March 2025. Updated daily, the podcast blends progressive political commentary with interviews.
9. The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan
Rock legend Billy Corgan trades in guitar riffs for long-form conversations in his new podcast, The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan. The show premiered in February 2025.
10. This is Gavin Newsom
Hosted by California Governor Gavin Newsom and produced by iHeartPodcasts, This is Gavin Newsom attempts to bridge ideological divides. The show kicked off in March 2025.
The Record is a look at the ad-supported audio landscape in the U.S. using Edison Research Share of Ear data and Nielsen format data. The Record has just been released for Q4 2025.
