Matt Brownsword is Edison’s Director of Data Analysis. Matt’s primary focus is directing data tabulation and analysis for Edison’s “Share of Ear”. This syndicated research study began in 2014, and has defined the wide scope of the ever-changing audio space in the 21st century. Matt works closely with clients including Apple, Audible, Cumulus, NPR, SiriusXM, Spotify. In addition to being responsible for quality control and the accuracy of the Share of Ear data, Matt also assists client’s in understanding the data and formulating narratives about current and long-term trends of Americans’ listening habits.
Before taking on his Share of Ear role in 2021, Matt focused on Edison’s work providing election night vote and analysis for the National Election Pool. His work included providing up-to-date data and projections on absentee voting. Matt continues to be a key part of the NEP data quality election night team in the vote collection process on election nights. Matt graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
