Clint Stevenson

Lead Data Scientist/Chief Statistician

Clint Stevenson is the Chief Statistician at Edison Research. He is an active member of both the American Statistical Association (ASA) and the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). Stevenson is an Accredited Professional Statistician (PStat®) through the ASA.

Stevenson has been with Edison Research since 2006 and is responsible for statistical analysis and research. His research foci include exit polling, survey sampling, geo-statistics, large database machine learning and iterative processes. In addition to his statistical work on the election exit poll, Stevenson works with clients analyzing data for online radio, online advertisements and other digital media.

Prior to Edison Research, Stevenson worked as a statistician dealing with hospital and health care analytics, focusing on patient and employee satisfaction surveys, analyzing personnel shift scheduling, and graphical presentation of data. He has also consulted clients on topics that include optimizing athletic training, retinal eye scanning for improved security, and academic exit polling for determining election outcomes.

Stevenson’s analytical expertise includes categorical data, linear & logistic regression, multivariate data, cluster and hierarchical classification analysis, experimental design, multiple imputation, and non-parametric statistics. Stevenson’s computational and programming expertise includes the R Environment, S-Plus, SAS, SPSS, LaTeX, Perl, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, and HTML/CSS.

Stevenson is a graduate of Rick’s College and Brigham Young University-Provo where his undergraduate degree is in bio-statistics with an emphasis in marine biology and he holds a master’s degree in statistical science with an emphasis in exit polling.
