Administrative Assistant

Edison Research is a dynamic, collaborative, agile company looking for an Administrative Assistant to work out of its Somerville, NJ offices. This person will report to the Office Manager, but will work closely with all of our staff, ranging from new hires to senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist Office Manager and other company departments
  • Actively work in QuickBooks accounting software
    • Accounts payable
    • Maintaining Vendor files with up-to-date W9 information
    • Enter daily payments from clients and run monthly collection reports
  • Manage office supplies by checking inventory; order items that are needed
  • Schedule/coordinate meetings and appointments
  • Make travel arrangements (flights, hotels, car rental, etc.)
  • Organize holiday parties, events, and meetings; coordinate with vendors/caterers/etc.
  • Assist in property management and upkeep
  • Answer phones
  • Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Run company errands
  • Assist project managers of Edison’s election, radio, advertising and media jobs as needed

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Some college or Associate Degree preferred, but not required
  • Prior Administrative Assistant experience preferred, but not required
  • Prior QuickBooks and Outlook experience preferred, but not required (will provide internal training)
  • Computer proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Ability to identify and prioritize tasks based on importance
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a quick-paced, time sensitive environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Very strong attention to detail, and an ambitious attitude

Market Research Project Coordinator

Edison Research, a dynamic public opinion and market research company is looking for an entry-level Project Coordinator to join its staff and work out of its Somerville, NJ offices.

Project Coordinators manage Edison assignments which include music research, consumer and public opinions surveys, and media industry studies. Responsibilities include questionnaire writing, selecting and managing vendors, hiring and training of field interviewers, supervising project fieldwork, and preparing client deliverables.

Responsibilities of a Market Research Project Coordinator:

  • Managing project fieldwork
  • Securing, coordinating and overseeing project vendors
  • Interacting with clients to meet project goals and deadlines
  • Recruiting and training field interviewers
  • Designing questionnaires and other survey instruments
  • Creating, organizing, and shipping project materials
  • Producing PowerPoint graphs and supporting deliverables for presentations

Salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications of a Market Research Project Coordinator:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Interest in market research, media, research methods, and/or politics
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines in a quick-paced, time sensitive environment
  • Comfortable working with numbers
  • Strong computer skills are essential, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are a must

Political Research Manager

Edison Research, a dynamic public opinion and market research company is looking for Political Research Manager to join its staff and work out of its Somerville, NJ offices.

Edison Research conducts exit polls and collects vote returns to project and analyze election results for the National Election Pool, comprised of ABC News, CBS News, CNN, and NBC News.

The Political Research Manager will oversee key areas of our research effort as we prepare for the 2020 primaries and general election.  Responsibilities include compiling and organizing election-related data from disparate sources, creating and maintaining relationships with state and party officials, contacting state and local elections offices, and delivering election related reports.

Responsibilities of a Political Research Manager:

  • Compile state and county-level research on election-related topics including ballot initiatives, current and past race candidates, upcoming federal, state, and local elections, absentee and early voter information, registration data, and election laws
  • Serve as the key contact to all state and some county election officials
  • Review election research data and provide quality assurance on reports prepared by election researchers
  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of research reports delivered to National Election Pool members
  • Prepare Edison data system for election day exit polls and vote collection
  • Coordinate gathering and testing of all Election Night data feeds
  • Provide written analysis on past electoral history in each state

Salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications of a Political Research Manager:

  • 2+ years of experience and/or MA in relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. politics and elections
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines in a quick-paced, time sensitive environment
  • Strong analytical skills, including an ability to synthesize large amounts of information and to focus quickly on what is most important
  • Proficient in Excel, Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
