Summary of 2008 Exit Polls Available in New Book from Chuck Todd and Sheldon Gawiser

By Edison Research

Nothing makes us at Edison Research happier than to see the exit poll data that we worked long and hard to collect used to explain the results of an election.

“How Barack Obama Won – A State-by-State Guide to the Historic 2008 Presidential Election” by our friends at NBC News – Chuck Todd and Sheldon Gawiser – is a handy summary of the results of the 2008 Presidential Election. In a concise handful of pages for each state, Chuck Todd and Sheldon Gawiser explain the voting trends using the actual votes and the NEP Exit Polls conducted by Edison Research in all fifty states and the District of Columbia.

This book should be a must-read for all political junkies who followed the seemingly endless 2008 presidential campaign through the primary season and the general election. The data tables highlight the important changes in the electorate since 2004 and the authors do a great job of pointing to the trends that may affect the next round of elections in 2010 and 2012.
