Slower Charts and the Summer Song Of 2007

Every May, Edison Media Research VP of Music and Programming Sean Ross looks at the candidate for the radio song of the summer. And every August, he comes back to look at his choices and announce a winner. Last year, the May field of contenders was upset by the mid-summer release of "SexyBack." This year, however, the summer hits were pretty much what they looked like in May. And that says something about how Top 40 seems to be slowing down and creating fewer legitimate hits.
