Jack/Bob: When To Co-Opt, When To Fight
Like most new formats, the Jack/Bob Classic Hits/Hot AC hybrid was barely on U.S. programmers' radar for its first 18 months. Now, as the second 18 months end, there's an American land rush to sign on a Jack/Bob-type station, or pre-empt it, and with it, a rush to vacate the current-based Hot AC position. While Edison Media Research's Sean Ross is a longtime proponent of Jack/Bob, he also believes that no format is an unstoppable juggernaut.
