Infinite Dial 2014: More than Six in Ten Americans Own a Smartphone

According to the Infinite Dial 2014, 61% of Americans 12+ now own a smartphone—up from 53% in 2013 and 44% in 2012.

How the Survey was Conducted:  A total of 2,023 persons were interviewed to investigate Americans’ use of digital platforms and new media.  From January 13 to February 12, 2014, telephone interviews were conducted with respondents age 12 and older who were selected via Random Digit Dial (RDD) sampling. The study includes a total of 808 cell phone interviews.

Infinite Dial 2014: 55% of Americans 12+ Have Used YouTube to Listen to Music

The Infinite Dial 2014 study shows that 55% of Americans 12+ have ever used YouTube specifically to watch music videos or listen to music–and 33% of Americans 12+ have done so within the past week.

Infinite Dial 2014: 46 Percent of 12-24s Use Snapchat

According to the Infinite Dial 2014 study, 46% of Americans 12-24 – and 53% of 12-17s – use the mobile image sharing app Snapchat.

Infinite Dial 2014: The Majority of Americans Have a TV Connected to the Internet

The Infinite Dial 2014 study reveals that 51% of Americans 12+ have a TV that is either directly connected to the Internet, or has that connection through a game console, video streaming appliance or other attached device.

Infinite Dial Research Finds that 31 Percent of Americans 12+ Use Pandora Monthly

The Infinite Dial 2014 study has found that 31 percent of Americans 12+ report using the Internet radio service Pandora on a monthly basis, up from 27 percent one year ago. iHeartRadio is used by 9 percent monthly, while iTunes Radio, which debuted in 2013, comes in third with 8 percent monthly usage, followed by 6 percent using Spotify.
