Our HouseEdison Media Research conducts survey research and provides strategic information to radio stations, television stations, Internet companies, newspapers, cable networks, record labels and other media organizations. Edison Media Research has built a niche for itself by developing innovative research techniques to provide its clients with a strategic advantage in today’s highly competitive media environment.

Through its history, Edison Media Research has conducted many groundbreaking surveys. Edison Media Research conducted a first-of-its-kind national survey of full-time and part-time workers and their use of media at work for the National Association of Broadcasters in September of 1998. The results of this study were featured in USA Today, Radio & Records and Broadcasting & Cable.

Edison Media Research has conducted a national survey on “The State of Country Music” for the Country Music Association and three national surveys of country music listeners for the annual Country Radio Seminar. In addition, Edison has conducted 15 major national surveys in conjunction with the Arbitron Company on the role of the Internet in today’s media world. These studies shed new light on the impact of the Internet on traditional media and have become the standard guide to the growth in usage of streaming media. Edison Media Research has replicated these Internet surveys in Canada, Finland and the United Kingdom. The results of these studies are quoted frequently in Business Week, Advertising Age, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.

Edison Media Research was chosen by the six major news organizations – ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC and the Associated Press – to conduct exit polls and collect vote returns to project and analyze results for broadcast for every major primary and the general election in 2008. Edison Media Research also designed the CNN RealVote system used by the cable network during the 2002 General Election. Prior to the Presidential Primaries, Edison conducted exclusive exit polling for the Kentucky and Mississippi Governors’ races in 2003, California Recall Election in 2003, the Washington, DC Mayor’s race in 2002 and the New York City Mayor’s race and the New Jersey Governor’s race in 2001.
